Introduction

Shopify bundle compatibility

BundleM8 sells bundles using Shopify's native bundles feature. Shopify sets a number of requirements that your store must meet before it can sell bundle products.

Checking your store

The BundleM8 dashboard checks your store when you open the app:

  • "Your Shopify store is bundle compatible." Your store meets the requirements and you can start creating bundles.
  • "Your Shopify store is not eligible for bundles." Something is stopping your store from selling bundles. The message includes the reason where Shopify provides one. Work through the requirements below, then reopen the app.

Requirements

  1. Online Store sales channel. Your store must use the Online Store sales channel.
  2. Checkout extensibility. Your checkout must use Shopify's current checkout. Stores still using legacy checkout.liquid customisations can't sell bundles.

Incompatible features

Some Shopify features can't be used with bundle products:

  1. Purchase options. Bundles can't be sold as subscriptions, pre-orders or try-before-you-buy.
  2. Shopify Subscriptions. Bundles aren't compatible with the Shopify Subscriptions app.
  3. Shopify POS. Bundles can't be sold in person through Shopify POS.

Other apps that change the cart

BundleM8 assembles bundles with a cart transform function. Some apps that also change cart lines, such as other bundle or upsell apps, can conflict with it. If bundles don't appear correctly in the cart after installing another app, see Troubleshooting.

Shopify updates these requirements from time to time. Refer to Shopify's guide on eligibility and considerations for using product bundles for the latest list.
